In the Dilovası district of Kocaeli, six people who lost their lives in a fire at a perfume filling facility were bid farewell on their final journey with prayers.

A fire broke out in the facility located in Mimar Sinan Neighborhood around 09:00 yesterday morning for an undetermined reason. With the influence of the chemical substances present in the facility, the flames quickly grew and engulfed the entire building, spreading to the roof of an adjacent building. In the fire, which was brought under control by the intense intervention of the teams, Şengül Yılmaz (55), Tuğba Taşdemir (18), Nisa Taşdemir (17), Cansu Esatoğlu (16), Esma Dikan, and Hanım Gülek (65) lost their lives.



IZMIT MAYOR HURRIYET ALSO OFFERED CONDOLENCES



The funerals of Tuba Taşdemir, Nisa Taşdemir, and Cansu Esetoğlu were brought to Kayapınar Cemetery after the farewell ceremony held at Selahattin Eyyübi Mosque in Kayapınar Neighborhood of Dilovası district. Metropolitan Mayor Tahir Büyükakın, Dilovası Mayor Ramazan Ömeroğlu, Izmit Mayor Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet, and AK Party Kocaeli Deputy Radiye Sezer Katırcıoğlu also expressed their condolences to the grieving families. The funerals were buried after the prayer held there.



MINISTER IŞIKHAN ALSO OFFERED CONDOLENCES



The funeral prayer of Şengül Yılmaz was held at Gül Mosque located in Merkez Neighborhood. The Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan and Governor İlhami Aktaş also attended the funeral, offering their condolences to the grieving family.



The funeral prayer of Esma Dikan was held at Vahdet Mosque in Mimar Sinan Neighborhood, while the funeral prayer of Hasgül Gülek was held at Eyüp Sultan Mosque in the same neighborhood. The funerals were buried after the prayers held.
