The mother of Hiranur, who was killed by her boyfriend at the age of 16 in Mersin, described her pain in tears, saying, "They tore my flower away from me; they slaughtered her in the car."
In the Toroslar district of Akbelen neighborhood, 16-year-old Hiranur A. was shot and killed with a gun while in a parked car. The police detained Hiranur's boyfriend H.A.Ş. (19) along with N.Ç. and M.Z., who were in the same vehicle. Additionally, Hiranur's relatives, whose funeral was held yesterday, went to the address of the suspect H.A.Ş.'s house, chanting slogans and protesting for a while, and the crowd later dispersed from the area following police warnings.
CONFESSED TO MURDER
The statements made by the murder suspect H.A.Ş. emerged while judicial proceedings were ongoing. In the suspect's initial statement, it was revealed that after they got out of the vehicle, Hiranur took the gun and shot herself in the head, which she described as a suicide. The police, who did not believe the suspect's statement, uncovered contradictory statements during interviews with other individuals, leading H.A.Ş. to change his statement. In his second statement, the murder suspect confessed that he had pointed the gun at Hiranur's forehead as a joke and pulled the trigger, thinking the gun was unloaded. Following Hiranur's death, it was also revealed that the suspects initially left the body in a location above Müftü Deresi in the Yenişehir district's Fuat Moral neighborhood, but later changed their minds and took her to the hospital. The police investigation also found blood traces in the grassy area.
"MY HEART IS BROKEN"
Gülten Tan, Hiranur's mother, stated that she was in the highlands at the time of the incident and when she returned home and called her daughter to ask about her situation, she was told that her daughter was at a military celebration. She later recounted that she was called by the police and learned about the incident. Tan said, "The phone rang, the police called: 'Your daughter had a traffic accident, may you be consoled.' My heart broke. They ripped my flower from me. I am finished. They extinguished my child's life," she said.
"THEY KILLED HER IN THE CAR"
Later, mother Tan reported that she learned the incident was not a traffic accident, saying, "Her friends killed her in the car. No other children, no other flowers should wither. My child is gone; may no other mother's heart break, please," she spoke.
The judicial proceedings for the three suspects, including H.A.Ş., who used the gun, are ongoing.
