According to TÜİK data, only 1.1% of the population in Turkey is at the highest level of welfare, while Çankaya, Kadıköy, and Beşiktaş are at the top of the list, and many rural districts, including Çamoluk, are at the bottom of the socioeconomic ranking.

According to the study prepared by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) based on numerous criteria such as education, income, and living standards, only 1.1% of households in Turkey are at the highest level of welfare. The research revealed that the socioeconomic gap between metropolitan centers and rural areas has reached significant dimensions.

AT THE PEAK OF WELFARE: ÇANKAYA, KADIKÖY, AND BEŞIKTAŞ

In the overall ranking, the district with the highest socioeconomic level in Turkey is Çankaya in Ankara. Following Çankaya are the well-established districts of Kadıköy and Beşiktaş in Istanbul. These districts ranked at the top of the list in terms of household opportunities, education level, and living standards. Despite this high score in metropolitan areas, it is noteworthy that the proportion of households classified as "high welfare" remains quite limited across the country.

THE POOREST DISTRICTS HAVE ALSO BEEN IDENTIFIED

The district with the lowest socioeconomic level score in the study was determined to be the Çamoluk district of Giresun. According to the TÜİK analysis, Çamoluk has the weakest score in Turkey in terms of household assets and social opportunities. It was observed that most of the districts at the lower end of the ranking have a small population, a dominant rural structure, and limited access to basic social facilities. It was emphasized that in these districts, sources of livelihood, educational opportunities, and technological access are quite restricted.

DISTRICTS WITH THE LOWEST SOCIOECONOMIC LEVEL

According to TÜİK data, the districts with the lowest socioeconomic levels are as follows:

  • Giresun – Çamoluk
  • Konya – Derebucak
  • Sivas – Doğanşar
  • Kayseri – Felahiye
  • Sinop – Dikmen
  • Kastamonu – Pınarbaşı
  • Çankırı – Bayramören
