In Şişli, a car heading from Zincirlikuyu to Beşiktaş was attacked with a long-barreled weapon at the exit of the 15 July Martyrs' Bridge. STATEMENT FROM THE HOSPITAL In a statement made by the private hospital where Öktem lost his life, it was stated, "Lawyer Serdar Öktem, who was transferred to our hospital by 112 ambulance as a result of a gun attack, was brought to Liv Hospital Ulus Emergency Service at 16:45. Despite all our doctors' interventions, our patient could not be saved. We wish God's mercy upon the deceased and condolences to his family and loved ones."
VEHICLE USED IN THE ATTACK FOUND The vehicle used in the armed attack on lawyer Öktem was found in a wooded area in Arnavutköy İstiklal Neighborhood. Teams have started a crime scene investigation in the area.
5 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY In a statement made by the Ministry of Interior on its social media account regarding the incident, it was announced that 5 suspects have been detained. STATEMENT FROM THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE In a statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, it was stated, "Today, regarding the death of a person named Serdar Öktem as a result of a gun attack carried out in the Zincirlikuyu neighborhood of Şişli district; based on eyewitness statements and camera footage, a total of 6 suspects have been captured, including 5 suspects who are believed to have carried out the incident and 1 suspect who was identified as having assisted the suspects in escaping after the incident. Two of the suspects are under 18 years old. The perpetrators of the incident were captured in the vicinity of Arnavutköy after they fled the scene. During the search and seizure operations conducted by security forces at the location where they were caught, a total of 4 weapons, including 2 Kalashnikovs and 2 pistols, as well as items such as ski masks and gloves were seized. Detailed examinations are ongoing both at the crime scene and at the location where the weapons were found. Preliminary findings suggest that the act was carried out as a result of a feud held by an organized crime group against the victim. The investigation into the incident will continue in depth by our Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau, including determining the instigators and whether the organized crime group was used as a contractor in the incident. FUNERAL TAKEN TO FORENSIC MEDICINE INSTITUTION The funeral of lawyer Serdar Öktem, who lost his life at the private hospital he was taken to after the armed attack, was taken from the hospital's morgue to the Forensic Medicine Institution.
