On the third anniversary of the February 6 earthquakes, Murat Oral, the General Manager of Construction Works, made statements regarding the efforts in the region, stating that the village houses were "designed to withstand the most severe earthquake that could occur in that area."
On February 6, 2023, 11 of our provinces were shaken by earthquakes measuring 7.7 and 7.6 centered in Kahramanmaraş. In the earthquakes that affected approximately 14 million citizens, 53,537 people lost their lives, and 107,213 people were injured.
"WE BUILT A VILLAGE SUITABLE FOR LOCAL GEOGRAPHICAL CONDITIONS"
The General Manager of Construction Works, Murat Oral, made statements to the microphone of Haberler.com in Kahramanmaraş Kızılseki on the 3rd anniversary of the earthquakes. Oral stated, "In both Kızılseki village and our other villages, we first needed to find the most solid ground. By finding an area with suitable ground, we chose this place. Subsequently, necessary drilling was carried out to calculate the load-bearing capacity of the ground, and we built our village. We adapted our 11 different types of projects here to be suitable for the ground, with a raft foundation. We built a village in accordance with local architectural conditions," he said.
Oral continued:
"In this village, we had 110 beneficiaries, and we completed and delivered all their houses. We completed and delivered 15,600 village houses throughout our province. In the 11 provinces affected by the earthquake, we completed and delivered 66,000 village houses.
In response to the question, "According to what earthquake conditions were the village houses built?" Oral stated, "While the calculations were made, they were designed to withstand the most severe earthquake that could occur in that region."
