The former wife and two suspects were detained over the possibility that Mehmet Çetin, who went missing in Isparta 10 years ago, may have been murdered. One of the suspects, a friend of Mehmet Çetin, was arrested on charges of "intentional homicide" after being brought to the courthouse.
Mehmet Çetin (32), who went missing in Isparta 10 years ago, was taken into custody along with his ex-wife and 2 suspects as part of an investigation launched on the possibility that he may have been murdered.
The family of Mehmet Çetin, who went missing 10 years ago in the Büyükkabaca town of Isparta's Senirkent district, participated in a television program in Istanbul this April.
TAKEN INTO CUSTODY DURING LIVE BROADCAST
Following the accounts of family members, the Isparta Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation. On suspicions that Mehmet Çetin may have been murdered, his ex-wife D.K. and locals B.B. and B.A. were taken into custody during a live broadcast in the television channel's studio on Tuesday.
FRIEND OF MISSING ÇETİN ARRESTED
After 4 days of interrogation at the police station, the suspects were brought to court, where Mehmet Çetin's friend Bayram A. was arrested by the duty magistrate on charges of "intentional homicide" and sent to prison. The suspects Derya K. and Bekir B. were released under judicial control.
It has been learned that the investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
