Kartepe, located approximately 120 kilometers from Istanbul by road, has been transformed into a winter wonderland with the effective snowfall. Postcard-like scenes have emerged at the summit.
In Kocaeli, the summit of Kartepe in the Samanlı Mountains, which is 1,640 meters high, was covered in white with the snowfall that became effective again in the evening hours, where the air temperature was measured at 5 degrees.

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın stated that with the effective snowfall in the high parts of the city, the teams continue their snow plowing efforts, saying, "I wish all my colleagues working in the field ease from God. I especially request our valuable citizens not to drive without winter tires for their own safety and traffic safety."
