A detail caught attention in the incident where Public Prosecutor Muhammet Çağatay Kılıçaslan shot Judge Aslı Kahraman at the Regional Court of Appeals in Kartal, Istanbul. It was learned that the tea server, who was present in the room during the incident and is an inmate at Maltepe Open Prison, jumped on Kılıçaslan to prevent him from firing a second time.
The female judge A.K. (45), who is a member of the Istanbul Regional Court of Appeal's 23rd Criminal Chamber (appeal) in Kartal, was shot by the prosecutor M.Ç.K. (33), with whom she had an obsession, in her office. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification.
INJURED JUDGE'S CONDITION IS GOOD
The injured judge was taken to the hospital after the first intervention by the medical teams. It was learned that the judge, who was injured in the groin, is not in life-threatening condition and will undergo surgery. An investigation has been initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident.
The prosecutor M.Ç.K., who was taken into custody, was brought to the Kartal District Police Department's Public Order Bureau for processing. It was reported that the prosecutor, who is being charged with "attempted murder," will be transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse tomorrow.

In the investigation, it was learned that the suspect prosecutor and the judge had previously worked together in the criminal court at the Anadolu Courthouse.

Meanwhile, a detail related to the incident drew attention. It was stated that the suspect, who fired at the judge in her office, was prevented from firing a second time by Y.K., a convicted tea seller from the Maltepe Open Penitentiary Institution, who was present in the room.
