It has been revealed that a 25-year-old young woman, who was reported missing in the Bornova district of Izmir, was murdered. The young woman, who was determined to have been strangled and buried, had a suspect arrested for her murder, and her last images were captured by security cameras.
The body of Mihriban Yılmaz (25), who was missing for 15 days in Bornova, was found buried in the forest. Fatih İnan (26), one of the 5 suspects taken into custody, was arrested after confessing that he strangled Yılmaz and buried her in the forest.
"I WILL MEET SOMEONE" SAID AND LEFT HOME
The incident occurred on December 29, 2025, in the Ümit neighborhood. Mihriban Yılmaz, who lived with her family, left home in the evening and went to visit relatives living nearby. After staying there for a while, Yılmaz left, saying, "I will meet someone." After this date, her family, who could not hear from her, filed a missing person report. With the support of the Intelligence Branch Directorate, the Public Order Branch Directorate and Bornova Police Department teams began working. Police teams determined that Yılmaz went to an empty lot on 7309 Street around 8:30 PM on the day of the incident and got into a car waiting for her there. It was identified that the person driving the vehicle was Fatih İnan. It was also found that the suspect lived in the same building as Yılmaz's relatives.
CONFESSED
Police teams took Fatih İnan along with R.Ç. (34), R.Ç. (32), H.İ. (37), and Ö.İ. (25) into custody the day before. It was learned that in his first statement at the Homicide Bureau, Fatih İnan said he did not know Mihriban Yılmaz. In his statement, İnan mentioned that they first communicated through social media, met in the empty lot to talk, and after sitting in the car for a while, Yılmaz left. He later confessed that he strangled Yılmaz to death and buried her in the forest. Yılmaz's lifeless body was found during the search at the location indicated by the suspect. After the examination by the public prosecutor, the body was taken to the morgue of the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institution.

It was alleged that the young girl was held captive for 10 days, during which she was constantly beaten and her face was disfigured. It was suggested that the suspect killed the young girl after torturing her and buried her. The last moments of Mihriban Yılmaz before she went missing were recorded second by second by nearby security cameras. The suspects, whose procedures were completed at the Public Order Branch Directorate, were referred to the courthouse yesterday. While the murder suspect Fatih İnan was arrested and sent to prison, R.Ç. (34), R.Ç. (32), H.İ. (37), and Ö.İ. (25) were released under judicial control.
