In a simultaneous operation across 4 districts in Istanbul targeting the DEAŞ terrorist organization, 39 suspects were detained during raids on 43 addresses. Unlicensed pistols, ammunition, a drone, and numerous digital materials were seized during the operation.

THE SO-CALLED ORGANIZATION'S LEADER IDENTIFIED AS ORHAN KÜÇÜK, CODE-NAMED "TAKSICI MUHAMMED"

Coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau, a simultaneous operation was conducted by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch Directorate and Intelligence Branch Directorate against the DEAŞ terrorist organization. Investigations determined that Orhan Küçük, code-named "Taksici Muhammed," allegedly led individuals supportive of the DEAŞ terrorist organization, organized religious-themed conversations in illegal associations and prayer rooms used by organization members, and collected money under the guise of fitrah, zakat, and alms.

Within the scope of the investigation, it was determined that the suspects engaged in radical rhetoric, propagated that the state was not governed according to Islamic rulings and that administrators were in a state of polytheism, and also conducted invitation and notification activities to gain support for illegal prayer rooms.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION AT 43 ADDRESSES

In this context, a simultaneous operation was carried out at a total of 43 addresses across 4 different districts of Istanbul, including 2 illegal prayer rooms. During the operation, 39 of the 42 suspects subject to arrest warrants were apprehended and taken into custody. Searches at the addresses yielded 1 unlicensed pistol, 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 2 cutting-piercing knives, 1 drone, and numerous digital materials.

It was learned that efforts to capture the remaining 3 suspects are ongoing.
