In the Yahşihan district of Kırıkkale, four suspects, including police and courthouse personnel, were arrested in a bribery investigation targeting entertainment venues. Yahşihan Deputy Mayor İbrahim Aydın was arrested in a separate corruption investigation concerning the municipality.
The investigation conducted by the Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office began when Y.S. reported to the Provincial Police Department's Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch, alleging that their father E.S., who runs an entertainment venue, was engaged in irregular and criminal activities. Police teams that took action upon the report detained Y.S., their father E.S., business manager E.Ş., as well as C.T., T.E., E.S. and Y.K. As a result of examining the suspects' WhatsApp correspondence and bank account movements, contacts with some public officials and money transfers were identified. Based on the evidence obtained, the investigation was expanded.
INVESTIGATION EXTENDED TO PUBLIC OFFICIALS
Yahşihan Deputy Mayor İbrahim Aydın, police officer M.K., court usher H.C., court clerk S.Y., and market and neighborhood watchman A.Y. were also detained in the operation. The suspects were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station were completed. Following their statements at the prosecutor's office, police officer M.K. and court usher H.C., who were brought before the on-duty magistrate judge, were arrested. Court clerk S.Y. and watchman A.Y. were released under judicial control conditions. In the first stage of the investigation, among the suspects referred to the courthouse, E.S. and T.E. were arrested, and E.Ş. was released under judicial control conditions. Y.S., C.T., E.S. and Y.K. were released after their statements at the prosecutor's office.
DEPUTY MAYOR ARRESTED IN SEPARATE INVESTIGATION
Yahşihan Deputy Mayor İbrahim Aydın, who was detained in the bribery investigation targeting entertainment venues, was included in a separate corruption investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into Yahşihan Municipality. Aydın was arrested by the on-duty magistrate judge to whom he was referred within the scope of this investigation.
