In the largest organized crime operation in the history of the republic, coordinated by the 53rd Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 549 of the 1,037 suspects were detained. During simultaneous raids targeting illegal arms, vehicle switching, and narcotics networks under Article 220 of the Turkish Penal Code, an arsenal was uncovered; over 10,000 weapon parts and thousands of narcotic pills were seized. The operation also confiscated assets and cash worth 39 million TL belonging to the organizations.
A massive simultaneous operation was carried out across Turkey against criminal organizations and organized crime activities. Within the scope of investigations coordinated by 53 Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, 549 suspects have been detained so far; millions of liras worth of crime proceeds, numerous weapons, narcotics, and vehicles and items with tampered chassis numbers were seized.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS
One of the most comprehensive operations was conducted across Turkey targeting establishing an organization for criminal purposes, illegal armament, drug trafficking, and smuggling activities. Coordinated by Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, simultaneous operations were carried out nationwide under Article 220 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK) for "establishing an organization to commit crimes" and offenses committed within the scope of organizational activity.
Initially planned as 48 operations coordinated by 41 Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in the morning hours, the process expanded to 53 Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices with the participation of 12 additional prosecutor's offices during the day. Within the scope of the operations, judicial proceedings were initiated against a total of 1,037 suspects, with 549 suspects detained so far, 16 suspects arrested, and judicial control orders issued for 13 suspects.
WORKSHOP LIKE A WEAPONS FACTORY AND AMMUNITION SEIZED
Searches targeting the weapon supply networks of criminal organizations revealed an arsenal. In the raids, 4 Kalashnikov/AK-47 type automatic rifles, 1 Thompson automatic pistol, 162 pistols, 10 long-barreled weapons, 38 hunting and pump-action shotguns, 15 blank-firing pistols, 1 air pistol, and 1 weapon under Law No. 6136 were seized. Additionally, 87 magazines, 7,395 rounds and cartridges, over 10,000 weapon parts, workshop tools believed to be used in illegal weapon production, along with 4 swords, 1 butterfly knife, 9 switchblades, 11 brass knuckles, and 1 cleaver were taken into custody.
THOUSANDS OF NARCOTIC PILLS AND PRECISION SCALES CAPTURED
As part of the fight against narcotic crimes, drugs and synthetic pills were found during searches at certain addresses. As a result of the operation, 7,753 synthetic pharmaceutical pills, 5,421 ecstasy pills, 238 Captagon pills, 73 Lyrica pills, and 53 narcotic pills were seized. In terms of substances, 12.55 grams of methamphetamine, 154.39 grams of synthetic cannabinoid, 80.61 grams of bonzai, 207.65 grams of skunk, 48 grams of A-M drug raw material, 37.87 grams of cannabis derivative, 3.11 grams of narcotic substance, 0.74 grams of fubinica, 8 cannabis seeds, 2 bong apparatuses, and 2 precision scales believed to be used in drug trafficking were confiscated.
CRIME PROCEEDS WORTH 39 MILLION TL AND ASSETS CONFISCATED
The financial scale of crime proceeds also drew attention. It was determined that 7 of the promissory notes seized in the operations totaled 11 million TL. Additionally, movable and immovable assets worth 28 million TL (belonging to 6 suspects), considered to be crime proceeds, were confiscated. In cash and valuables searches, 125 promissory notes, 2 apartment and vehicle sales contracts, debt-credit ledgers, 426,700 TL, 1,100 Euros, 200 Dollars, along with 563.72 grams of gold, 10 Republic gold coins, 1 two-and-a-half gold coin, 5 bracelets, 4 earrings, 8 rings, 1 necklace, and 1 bracelet were seized.
"CHANGE" VEHICLE NETWORK AND OTHER CRIME ELEMENTS EXPOSED
In searches targeting automotive smuggling and "change" (forging chassis numbers) activities, 1 BMW with expired exit permit and active search record, 1 damaged BMW with towing documents, 2 foreign-origin vehicles, 1 vehicle with a tampered chassis number, 1 Fiat Doblo reported stolen, and 1 Nissan brand vehicle under seizure/arrest warrant were seized. Fake chassis number labels prepared to be affixed inside vehicle door frames, 1 Volvo crate engine, 2 engine blocks with tampered engine numbers, 2 engine blocks without engine numbers, and 2 twin engine blocks (with the same engine number) were found.
In other phases of the operation, 6 historical coins, 5 historical artifacts, 4 POS devices, 11 credit cards, 1 motorcycle helmet and license plate, 2 ballistic steel vests (one jacket-style), along with a ski mask and motorcycle believed to have been used in workplace shootings were seized. Under smuggling, 290 items of goods (headphones, perfume, vacuum cleaners, thermoses, etc.), 69 packs of heated cigarettes, 23,800 empty/filled cigarette tubes, and tobacco products were captured.
163 MOBILE PHONES AND DIGITAL MATERIALS UNDER REVIEW
To unravel the communication channels of the suspects, 163 mobile phones (45 of which were smuggled across customs), 46 SIM cards, 13 laptops and 7 desktop computers, 42 USB drives, 2 tablets, account ledgers, and notepads were confiscated.
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices are meticulously conducting a multifaceted judicial investigation to identify connections in digital materials, organizational communication channels, and the criminal links of the suspects.
