Master actor Kadir İnanır, who etched his name in Turkish cinema with the characters he portrayed, passed away at the age of 77 due to pneumonia-related respiratory distress. Following his death, his actor nephew Levent İnanır made a statement to the press in front of Acıbadem Fulya Hospital.
"HE HAD NO WILL" Levent İnanır said, "In a previous interview, my uncle Kadir said, 'When I die one day, a funeral will rise from every home in Turkey.' I never forget those words. Our phones won't stop ringing; he was a beloved, wanted, and missed person. Many people, known and unknown, prayed. During this process, I was in Bingöl and Diyarbakır shooting films. Honestly, I couldn't walk on the streets. I knew he was loved, but I didn't know he was loved this much. I didn't know it was such a sacred love. I witnessed it firsthand. Thanks to our hospital and doctors. He had endured very severe problems over 8 years consecutively. He could only endure and resist this much. I can't find any words to say. Another great star will take its place in the sky. Our last meeting was before the intubation process. He was fine but fought hard. He knew. He was very worn out; it was his third clot. There were issues in the lungs and kidneys. His organs were tired. He was tired, his heart was tired. He had no special requests, no will. We will do our best to give Kadir İnanır what he deserves in the finest way possible. We will bid him farewell in a manner befitting him."
HE WILL BE BIDDEN FAREWELL ON SUNDAY Kadir İnanır will be bid his final farewell on Sunday, June 28. After the ceremony to be held at 1:00 PM at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage, funeral prayers will be performed at the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque for İnanır, and afterwards he will be laid to rest in the Ulus Cemetery.
