Six people have been arrested in Ankara as part of an investigation into actions against the Turkish flag and attacks on students during the METU spring festivals. A total of 21 suspects have been identified, and 19 individuals have been apprehended.

Six people who were detained within the scope of the investigation launched regarding actions against the Turkish flag and attacks on students during a concert held at spring festivals in Ankara have been arrested.

21 SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED IN CONNECTION WITH THE INCIDENT

An investigation was launched ex officio by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on May 6 due to actions against the Turkish flag and attacks on students during the concert on the first day of the METU spring festivals, on charges of 'Denigrating Sovereignty Emblems of the State', 'Qualified Intentional Injury', 'Threat and Insult'. Within the scope of the investigation, based on images reflected in written and visual media and social media, search and seizure operations were initiated on May 7 regarding 21 suspects whose identities were identified and who were understood to have participated in the said actions, as a result of work carried out with the Ankara Provincial Police Department Security Branch Directorate.

CAPTURE OPERATIONS FOR 2 SUSPECTS RELATED TO THE INCIDENT CONTINUE

While 19 suspects were captured in relation to the incident, 6 suspects were arrested. Within the scope of the investigation, a judicial control decision was made for 7 suspects, while 1 suspect was detained. Capture operations and the investigation continue for 2 suspects related to the incident.
