U.S. President Donald Trump signed a $142 billion arms sales agreement in Saudi Arabia. The agreement has been recorded as "the largest arms sales agreement in history."
It has been reported that a "historic arms sales agreement" worth approximately 142 billion dollars has been signed between the USA and Saudi Arabia.
TRUMP'S $600 BILLION INVESTMENT COMMITMENT
During his Middle East tour, US President Donald Trump visited Saudi Arabia and secured a commitment for a $600 billion investment in the country. In a statement from the White House, it was noted that the initial agreements made in this context would strengthen the USA's energy security, defense industry, technological leadership, and access to global infrastructure and critical minerals.
ARMS SALES AGREEMENT WORTH $142 BILLION SIGNED
The statement indicated that the agreements are historic and transformative for both countries, representing a new "golden age" of partnership between the USA and Saudi Arabia. It was stated that the USA and Saudi Arabia have signed "the largest arms sales agreement in history," with the agreement valued at approximately 142 billion dollars, and that cutting-edge military equipment and services from American defense companies will be provided to Saudi Arabia.
The statement noted that the planned sales are categorized into five areas: the development of air forces and space capabilities, air and missile defense, maritime and coastal security, border security, and the modernization of ground forces, as well as the updating of information and communication systems.
It was also mentioned that the agreement includes comprehensive training and support to enhance the capacity of the Saudi armed forces, stating, "This agreement represents a significant investment in Saudi Arabia's defense and regional security based on American systems and training."
