The horrific tragedy occurred near the city of Coari in the Amazonas state of Brazil. The little girl, named Clara Vitoria, fell victim to an unimaginable accident while she was outside the floating structure where she lived with her family.
FELL INTO THE RIVER, FAMILY NOTICED SOON
According to information from the Daily Mail, Clara fell into the river through a gap in the structure she was on while wandering outside the house, which had no fence or railing to prevent her from falling into the water. After a while, noticing that their daughter was missing, the parents quickly understood the situation and jumped into the river.
After about five minutes of searching, little Clara was pulled from the water, but the small girl had already lost her life.
MOST OF THE INJURIES ON HER NECK
Authorities stated that the majority of the injuries, which were mainly on the little girl's neck, were caused by the piranha attack. It was noted that there were no fences or railings at the scene, and the area was left vacant for a shower facility that is planned to be built in the future.
The lifeless body of Clara Vitoria was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy, and a police investigation was launched regarding the incident.
