A 20-year-old student at a university in the Dharashiv district of Maharashtra, India, collapsed and died during her farewell speech. The student was identified as Varsha Kharat, a final-year Science student at RG Shinde University.

The incident, which reportedly took place on April 5, has gone viral on the internet. In the short video clip, the young girl dressed in a sari is seen standing in front of the podium delivering her speech. Just seconds before fainting, she is seen speaking and sharing a joyful moment with the audience. When the girl falls to the ground, students rush towards the stage. According to media reports, the young girl was immediately taken to a nearby government hospital in Paranda, but it was announced that she had died upon arrival at the hospital.

According to a report by Times of India citing Varsha's uncle, the deceased student had a history of heart-related health issues and had undergone bypass surgery about seven years ago.

Dhanaji Kharat, a district council school teacher, told Times of India, "She was on medication after the heart surgery. She forgot to take her daily medication in the rush to get to university on Friday."

University officials told Times of India that Varsha was a bright student with big dreams for her life and family. She came from a modest family; her parents worked on farms, and she had both an older sister and a younger brother.

While the cause of death is still unknown, it is suspected that she may have suffered a sudden heart attack while delivering her speech.
