An English man who was arrested for allegedly attempting to hold a fake wedding with a 9-year-old girl at Disneyland Paris has been identified as a person wanted in England for charges of pedophilia. It was reported that the man organized a fake wedding ceremony with a Ukrainian child in front of Disneyland's famous Sleeping Beauty Castle, and that this situation was noticed by Disneyland staff on the day of the ceremony.
An English man who was arrested for allegedly trying to marry a 9-year-old girl at Disneyland Paris has been revealed to be a person wanted in England for pedophilia charges.
French judicial authorities stated that the 39-year-old man is recognized in England for "sexual offenses against minors" and is facing various charges for allegedly organizing a fake wedding ceremony in front of Disneyland's famous Sleeping Beauty Castle with a Ukrainian child.
The incident occurred during a ceremony attended by approximately 100 guests. Disneyland employees reported that they were deceived before the event and that this disturbing show was organized, but they realized on the day of the ceremony that the bride was a small child. The organization is said to have cost around £115,000.
Authorities from the Meaux region near Paris announced that the man has a record of sexual offenses in England and is wanted nationwide. Officials noted that he is being sought for failing to comply with registration requirements.
Employees became suspicious when they saw the little girl wearing four-centimeter high-heeled shoes and a wedding dress, and contacted the police.
The man is reportedly facing charges of "fraud," "abuse of trust," "money laundering," and "identity theft," with plans to livestream the crime on social media. It was stated that he reserved an area in Disneyland's Marne-la-Vallée region for a private event using fake identities and documents.
In connection with the incident, a 41-year-old Ukrainian woman, who is the child's mother, a 24-year-old Latvian woman who is alleged to have played the role of the bride's sister, and a 55-year-old Latvian man were also taken into custody.
The police announced that additional people were hired online for the "family members" roles in the event, which was planned to be livestreamed on social media.
French authorities stated that the organizer disguised himself as a Latvian person and signed the privatization contract for the park with fake documents.
The fake wedding ceremony took place on Sunday, June 22. The ceremony was held in front of Disneyland's iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle, complete with a wedding cake, chairs for guests, and musicians.
It was reported that the little girl did not suffer any harm during the health examination conducted.
A person who attended the event as a wedding guest and wished to remain anonymous said, "We all thought we were attending a real wedding. When the truth came out, everyone was shocked. Disneyland acted professionally and canceled the ceremony as soon as they realized the bride was a child. Everything was very disturbing."
