AFAD announced that an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 occurred in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir. The earthquake was located 6.93 kilometers below the surface.
On August 10, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Balıkesir, and aftershocks continue to occur. Following the earthquakes of magnitudes 4.9, 4.1, and 4, another earthquake occurred today.
EARTHQUAKE OF MAGNITUDE 4.5 IN SINDIRGI
According to the data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred with its epicenter in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir.
The earthquake, which occurred 6.93 kilometers below the surface, took place at 23:03. The tremor was felt in surrounding provinces as well.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
On August 10, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir, resulting in one death and 29 injuries.
Many buildings suffered severe damage due to the earthquake, and some buildings collapsed. Since the earthquake on August 10, numerous aftershocks have occurred in the region.
