The death toll has risen in the incident where the Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira Bridge, which connects the states of Maranhao and Tocantins in the north of the country, collapsed on December 22, 2024, in Brazil.

According to a report by Agencia Brasil, the number of people who lost their lives due to the bridge collapse has risen to 12. Search efforts continue for 5 missing persons. It has been reported that the recently found bodies were retrieved from a vehicle that fell into the river.

BRIDGE COLLAPSE CAUGHT ON CAMERA

Authorities have stated that 4 trucks, 2 cars, and 2 motorcycles fell into the river as a result of the bridge's collapse. Footage shared on social media captured the moment of the bridge's collapse.
