French President Macron questioned Russian President Putin's desire for peace, stating, "There is only one thing we need to do, just one thing. I told that one thing again to President (Donald) Trump, whom I spoke with late at night two days ago: that one thing is for President Putin to stop lying."
French President Emmanuel Macron expressed that he wants Russian President Vladimir Putin, who claims to "want peace," to stop lying about it.
According to reports in the national press, during his visit to Madagascar, Macron addressed the Russia-Ukraine War and ceasefire negotiations.

Macron argued that France stands for the sovereignty of peoples and the territorial integrity of states, stating, "There is no double standard for France. This stance also applies to Ukraine, the Near East, the Middle East, and the African continent." He mentioned that, at the initiative of the United States, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accepted "unconditional ceasefire" a few weeks ago, calling it a great gesture. Macron expressed that everyone is waiting for an answer to the question, "Will President Putin accept an unconditional ceasefire?"
He emphasized that the Ukrainian people will continue to defend their right to live in peace within internationally recognized borders and on their own territory, asserting that Russia is the aggressor in this war.
