A verdict has been reached in the case involving 11 defendants, including a well-known businessman, as part of the synthetic drug investigation conducted in Kayseri. The 6th High Criminal Court, finding the crime of drug production and trafficking established, sentenced some defendants to prison terms exceeding 20 years, while it issued a 25-year prison and arrest order for businessman M.E. and his brother.
The court announced its decision in the case where 11 defendants, including Kayseri businessman M.E., were accused of producing and trafficking synthetic drugs. In the final hearing of the case held at the Kayseri 6th High Criminal Court, some defendants were sentenced to long-term imprisonment.
25 YEARS IN PRISON FOR BUSINESSMAN AND HIS BROTHER
The court panel sentenced the defendants, businessman M.E. and his brother D.E., to 25 years in prison and a fine of 50,000 lira each for the crime of producing and trafficking synthetic drugs. The panel ruled for the arrest of both defendants.
APPLICATION OF EFFECTIVE REMORSE DISCOUNT
Defendant I.K. was sentenced to 20 years in prison and a fine of 33,000 lira by the court. However, with the application of effective remorse provisions, I.K.'s sentence was reduced to 16 years and 8 months. The court also issued an arrest warrant for this defendant.
TRAVEL BAN FOR ONE DEFENDANT
Defendant I.E., who was tried in the case, was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months in prison and a fine of 11,660 lira after discounts. The court panel decided to impose a travel ban on I.E.
For the other defendants tried in the case, an acquittal decision was made on the grounds that the crime was not established.
