BODIES OF TWO VICTIMS EXTRACTED FROM VEHICLE BY FIREFIGHTERS

The accident occurred near the Ceyhan-Yumurtalık Free Zone junction. The truck with foreign plate BS5440A, driven by S.B. and without a trailer, was heading towards İskenderun when it allegedly malfunctioned. The vehicle stopped in the emergency lane due to the malfunction, and a car with plate 51 AAJ 290, driven by Zafer Köse, collided with it from behind. Following the accident, which caused significant damage to the car, health, firefighting, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene upon reports from bystanders. Köse and his passenger Salih Üstündağ, trapped in the vehicle, were extracted by firefighters.

TRUCK DRIVER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

During the medical team's examination, it was determined that passenger Salih Üstündağ had died, while the seriously injured driver Köse was taken by ambulance to Ceyhan State Hospital. Despite doctors' intervention, Köse could not be saved. The bodies of the two deceased were taken to the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy. An investigation has been launched into the accident, and the truck driver has been taken into custody.
