Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu approved the deployment of the International Stability Force to Gaza in order to meet with US President Trump; this decision means the condition of disarming Hamas has been abandoned.
It was reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved the deployment of the International Stability Force (ISF) to the Gaza Strip in order to meet with US President Donald Trump.
WHITE HOUSE NOT KEEN ON MEETING
According to a report by Israel's Channel 12, White House officials, who are not enthusiastic about a Netanyahu-Trump meeting, conveyed to Israel that a concrete diplomatic step aligned with Washington's demands is necessary.
The report stated that after consultations between Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter and Trump's close associates at the White House, a decision was made to approve the entry of the International Stability Force, which is part of the administrative structures within Trump's Gaza Plan, into the region.
TO MEET WITH TRUMP
It was noted that Netanyahu advanced the security cabinet meeting to approve the deployment of the ISF to Gaza in order to meet with Trump.
An unnamed Israeli official speaking to Channel 12 claimed that Netanyahu made this decision as a "gesture" to Trump.
ABANDONED THAT CONDITION
The official also argued that with this step, Israel abandoned its previous condition of "disarming Hamas" for the ISF to enter Gaza.
Yesterday, Netanyahu left for Washington from the Nevatim Air Force Base in the southern city of Beersheba without disclosing his flight time in advance for security reasons.
Netanyahu and Trump will meet later today.
