The tradition of rain and gratitude prayers held in the villages of Güde, Nazifpaşa, and Bahçesultan, which are part of the Pazaryeri district of Bilecik, was carried out with great enthusiasm this year as well. Approximately 1,500 people participated in this century-old tradition.
In the Güde, Nazifpaşa, and Bahçesultan villages of Bilecik's Pazaryeri district, an event prepared by the community in a cooperative manner took place, where collective prayers were held in mosques early in the morning.
DOZENS OF PEOPLE ATTENDED THE RAIN AND THANKSGIVING PRAYER
Afterward, rain and thanksgiving prayers were recited in the Bayram Grove. Participants raised their hands to the sky together and prayed for a fruitful year.
TRADITIONAL RICE SERVING WAS HELD
The event saw a large turnout from surrounding villages and the district center, and after the prayers, traditional rice was served. Participants gathered at the tables set up in the Bayram Grove area to chat and celebrate this special day together.
"MAY MY LORD ACCEPT ALL THE PRAYERS"
Pazaryeri Mayor Tekin stated, "Today is the third day of the holiday, and we are in the holiday grove. We are at the rain and thanksgiving prayer traditionally organized every year by our villages of Güde, Bahçesultan, and Nazifpaşa. There are also many of our fellow citizens coming from outside due to the holiday. We are in a time period where thousands of our fellow citizens are having a beautiful day together with prayers. May my Lord accept all the prayers made, and may everyone have a blessed holiday. We have reunited with our fellow citizens, and it has been a beautiful day for us," he said.
"GOD WILLING, WE WILL CONTINUE IN THE COMING YEARS"
Güde Village Headman Fahrettin Durak stated that the rain and thanksgiving prayer held together with surrounding villages strengthens our unity and creates a spiritual atmosphere. He wished everyone a happy holiday and said, "Since this tradition has been passed down for centuries, we held it during the holiday this year, and it turned out even better. God willing, we will continue in the coming years. This year we had three villages, but our other village could not participate; it was not meant to be. I thank everyone for their contributions."
