Egyptian media reported that an agreement has been reached to establish an operations room involving Egypt, Palestine, Qatar, the United States, and Israel to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Representatives from these countries will be present in the operations room to ensure compliance with the terms of the agreement and effective coordination.
The Egyptian media announced that an international meeting hosted by Cairo concluded with an agreement to establish an operations room involving five countries to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
AN OPERATIONS ROOM WILL BE ESTABLISHED IN CAIRO
According to a report by Al Qahera News, citing a source who wished to remain anonymous, the meeting, which discussed the mechanisms for implementing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, took place in a positive atmosphere. The source stated that consensus was reached on all necessary arrangements for the implementation of the agreement, including the establishment of a joint operations room in Cairo.
REPRESENTATIVES OF 5 COUNTRIES WILL PARTICIPATE
The source indicated that representatives from Egypt, Palestine, Qatar, the USA, and Israel will be present in the operations room to ensure compliance with the provisions of the agreement and effective coordination. Al Qahera News reported that technical meetings began in Cairo yesterday afternoon to determine the mechanisms for implementing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
ISRAEL APPROVED THE CEASEFIRE
The channel noted that teams from Egypt, Qatar, the USA, and Israel participated in the meeting but did not provide further details. The Israeli government approved the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in Gaza late at night.
CEASEFIRE PROCESS
Qatar, one of the mediating countries, announced on January 15 that an agreement had been reached between Israel and Hamas regarding a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Gaza.
The agreement will come into effect on Sunday, January 19. The ceasefire agreement, which consists of three phases, will see the release of 33 Israeli prisoners during the first 42 days.
The agreement also includes the comprehensive delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, as well as allowing displaced Palestinians to return to their regions.
Details of the second and third phases will be announced upon the completion of the first phase.
