The war between Israel and Iran, which has been ongoing for nine days, continues with full intensity. During this process, a notable statement came from Israel's Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir. Zamir stated, "We must be prepared for a long-term war against Iran. We still have difficult days ahead."
The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Eyal Zamir, made statements regarding the large-scale attacks that Israel launched against Iran on June 13 in a video message that was published.
Zamir stated that Israeli citizens should be prepared for a "long-lasting war" against Iran, saying, "The war is not over. Although we have achieved significant results, we still have difficult days ahead of us."
Zamir claimed that the attacks they have been conducting against Iran for 8 days have yielded "extraordinary results," stating, "We are preparing for a series of possible developments. We have entered the most complex war in our history."
"IRAN HAS 2,500 BALLISTIC MISSILES"
Zamir asserted that Iran possesses around 2,500 ballistic missiles capable of being launched from land and has a high production rate, claiming that they initiated the attack after assessments that they could have 8,000 missiles within approximately two years.
Zamir alleged that Iran's ballistic missile production activities, the presence of proxy forces in the Middle East, and progress in nuclear weapon production have forced Israel to launch attacks and "carry out a preemptive strike," asserting that they have been preparing for large-scale attacks for many years.
STATUS OF THE WAR
On June 13, Israel conducted large-scale attacks targeting not only nuclear facilities in various cities of Iran but also the high command of the military.
In the attacks, the Chief of Staff of Iran, the Commander of the Revolutionary Guards, and several senior commanders, along with 9 nuclear scientists, were killed.
The Iranian Ministry of Health announced on June 15 that the total civilian death toll from Israel's attacks was 224, with the number of injured exceeding 1,277.
In retaliation, the Iranian military's missile attack on Israel reportedly resulted in the deaths of 25 people and injuries to 2,517 others.
Many countries, including Turkey, condemned Israel.
