Individuals who stopped a restaurant courier at gunpoint in Northern Ireland sent the courier, with explosives placed in his vehicle, under threat to the police station in Lurgan.

A courier from a fast food restaurant in Northern Ireland was threatened due to an explosive device placed in his vehicle by armed individuals. The courier reported the situation to the police before reaching the police station.

THEY PLACED AN EXPLOSIVE IN THE COURIER'S VEHICLE

According to a statement from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), the vehicle of a courier working at a fast food restaurant was stopped by armed suspects last night. The armed suspects threatened to kill the courier if he did not take the explosive device to the police station in Lurgan.

WARNED THE POLICE AT THE LAST MOMENT

When the courier arrived near the police station, he got out of the vehicle and ran to the police officers, warning them about the explosive. Following the courier's warning, approximately 100 homes in the vicinity were evacuated, and the package in the vehicle was detonated in a controlled manner by bomb disposal experts.

PSNI shared information that there was a real homemade explosive in the package placed in the vehicle and announced that counter-terrorism teams had begun investigating the incident. Speaking to local media, Northern Ireland's Justice Minister Naomi Long stated that this attack posed a danger to many people, saying, "There is no place in our community for such reckless and shocking attacks."

"A POWERFUL HOMEMADE EXPLOSIVE"

Police official Ryan Henderson explained that the vehicle was stopped by two armed individuals, stating, "Although it is a simple explosive, it is a powerful homemade explosive. It is not complex, but it could have posed a significant risk to the courier, the police officers, and those nearby." Henderson also mentioned that the perpetrator of the attack was "most likely republican separatists."
