A decision has been made regarding the businessman who caused a disturbance on the plane.

Petlas Board Member Abdulkadir Özcan caused a scene on a Turkish Airlines (THY) flight he boarded to travel abroad. Those moments were captured by a passenger's mobile phone camera.

"I WILL BUY TURKEY"

In the footage, Özcan, who was being calmed down by cabin crew, was seen shouting and insulting, "Do you know who I am? I am a billion-dollar man. I will buy Turkey. Let go, come here! F...!"

ENTERED THE BLACKLIST

Turkish Airlines Press Advisor Yahya Üstün announced on his social media account that Özcan has been placed on the blacklist due to the incident. Üstün stated: "A passenger who caused a disturbance during the flight under the influence of alcohol verbally assaulted our cabin crew and other passengers, and was therefore restrained and neutralized. The passenger was handed over to law enforcement at the end of the flight and has been placed on the blacklist."

PETLAS APOLOGIZED

Following the incident, Petlas issued an apology for what transpired. In a statement, the company said, "We are saddened by the incident involving our Board Member Abdulkadir Özcan on the THY flight on December 13, 2024. This incident is contrary to the values of both our family and our company, and there is no justification for it regardless of the reason. We apologize to the entire Turkish public and inform you that necessary decisions regarding the matter will be implemented within the company as soon as possible. We apologize once again for occupying the public agenda of Turkey with such an incident. Sincerely."

DISMISSED FROM HIS POSITION

In the latest statement from Petlas, it was reported that Özcan has been dismissed from his position. The company stated: "As of December 14, 2024, it has been decided to dismiss our Board Member Abdulkadir Özcan from the Board of Directors of Petlas Tire Industry and Trade Inc. We inform the public. Sincerely."
