In Şanlıurfa, two children aged 5 and 7 were stripped naked on the roof of their house and washed with cold water by their father and stepmother because they had soiled themselves. After being beaten with a hose, the father was arrested following a report from neighbors, and the children were placed under state protection.

The father and stepmother, whose names are not disclosed, punished their children for soiling themselves by taking them to the roof of their house. The father stripped the children naked in the cold weather, washed them with cold water, and then beat them with a hose. Meanwhile, the stepmother assisted her husband.

NEIGHBORS RECORDED IT

Neighbors who heard the children's screams recorded the incident with their mobile phone cameras and reported it to the police. Police teams who arrived at the scene upon the report detained the father and stepmother. Following the instructions of the Şanlıurfa Governorship, the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services took action and the children were placed under protection.

Regarding the victimized children who were subjected to violence by their father and stepmother, the Şanlıurfa Governorship made a statement. In the statement, it was noted that the father was arrested after the incident:

"On February 16, 2025, it became necessary for our governorship to make a statement regarding the news in social media and the press about 'a father applying violence to his children in Şanlıurfa.' Our Provincial Police Department quickly conducted an investigation related to the incident, the abusive father was detained, and he was arrested by judicial authorities. The children involved in the news have been immediately placed under protection by our Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services."
