A doctor who was found to have illegally prescribed green prescription drugs for money in Düzce, along with his spouse and 10 suspects, has been issued an arrest warrant. An operation has been launched to capture the suspects in Düzce and Kütahya.
The Düzce Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, in coordination with the Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch teams, conducted an investigation into the crimes of "bribery, qualified fraud, and forgery of official documents."
SELLING MEDICATIONS FOR MONEY AND TRANSFERRING THE FUNDS TO HIS WIFE'S ACCOUNT
In the investigation, it was determined that Dr. S.K. (41) improperly prescribed the green prescription medication named "Xanax" to individuals who had no health issues, that these medications were sold for money, and that the income was transferred to his wife G.K.'s (25) account.
Examinations revealed that numerous money transfers were made to the bank accounts of Dr. S.K. and his wife G.K. between the years 2023 and 2025. It was also understood that the 10 suspects for whom prescriptions were written had no psychiatric history.
IT WAS REVEALED THAT THEY HAD NO PSYCHIATRIC HISTORY
It was determined that the individuals who transferred money to the accounts of suspects Dr. S.K. and his wife G.K. and obtained improperly prescribed green prescription medications were S.O., İ.O., H.K., M.K., H.K., M.E., N.E., H.K., Ö.K., and H.K. It was understood that the 10 suspects for whom prescriptions were written had no psychiatric history.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION ON 12 SUSPECTS
As part of the investigation, the operation centered in Düzce was initiated. Search, seizure, and detention orders were issued for a total of 12 suspects, 9 in Düzce and 3 in Kütahya. It was learned that efforts to capture the suspects were ongoing. Additionally, it was learned that one of the suspects, H.K., had been processed in 2024 for "counterfeiting money and crimes under Law No. 6136," and that he had 23 criminal records, while Dr. S.K. had 7 criminal records.
