Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu broke his nearly one-month silence on social media regarding the three members of parliament detained by Israel. Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "The three members of parliament who carry the will of our nation and our citizens accompanying the fleet are worth their weight in gold; the waves may hit their ships, but it’s not just three MPs, three million Mehmetçiks will come; the world may end, but justice will be served."
Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made a statement regarding Israel's intervention on a ship that included three Turkish MPs.
3 MPs DETAINED
Israel had conducted a raid in international waters early in the morning on the ships of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which was on its way to break the blockade on Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid. Among the ships brought to port was the Vicdan, which included Saadet Party Hatay MP Necmettin Çalışkan, Saadet Party Bursa MP Mehmet Atmaca, and Future Party Denizli MP Sema Silkin Ün.
"3 MILLION MEHMETÇIK WILL COME"
While efforts continue to rescue the MPs and Turkish citizens, former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made a statement regarding the events. Kılıçdaroğlu said, "The courage to say 'Stop!' to the Israeli administration, which is a major partner of global capital but a fierce minority in the Middle East, is the name of the determination of Palestinians to exist in their homeland, and the hope that the Sumud Flotilla brings to humanity through living consciences. The three MPs carrying the will of our nation, Sema Silkin Ün, Necmettin Çalışkan, Mehmet Atmaca, and our citizens accompanying the flotilla are worth their weight in gold; the waves will hit their ships, and it won't just be three MPs, but three million Mehmetçik will come; the apocalypse will break out, but justice will prevail. A thousand greetings to each of my brothers who courageously carry the conscience of humanity to Palestine."
