Seven workers were hospitalized after being poisoned by carbon monoxide gas in a private coal mine in the Gediz district of Kütahya. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
Seven workers were hospitalized after being poisoned by carbon monoxide gas in a private coal mine in the Gediz district of Kütahya.
The incident occurred in the evening at a coal mine owned by a private company located in the Gökler Belde coal basin.
THEY WERE AFFECTED BY CARBON MONOXIDE GAS
Shift workers at the mine began to faint due to carbon monoxide gas that emerged in a gallery during production. Upon notification of the situation, AFAD, gendarmerie, mine rescue teams, and medical personnel were dispatched to the area.
7 WORKERS HOSPITALIZED
With the efforts of the teams that reached the mine and the mine workers, Mustafa K., Mehmet E., Mehmet T., Mustafa E., Muhammet K., Kader S., and Cemalettin B. were rescued from the gas poisoning. The workers, who received first aid at the scene, were taken to Gediz State Hospital by ambulance for treatment. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
