A doctor who sprayed pepper gas on patients and showed a gun to staff at a hospital in Üsküdar was arrested for "threatening with a weapon" and "insulting the President."
SPRAYING PEPPER GAS AND POINTING A GUN
The Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against the doctor, who is alleged to have shown a gun to staff, sprayed pepper gas on patients, frightened them with an electroshock device, and insulted President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at Üsküdar State Hospital on February 14.
SENT TO PRISON
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department, acting within the scope of the investigation, detained the doctor O.K.K., who was identified through hospital security camera footage as having carried out the aforementioned actions. During a search of the suspect doctor's residence and vehicle, 5 air guns, 3 electroshock devices, and 2 cans of pepper spray were seized.
After his procedures at the police station, O.K.K. was referred to the Anadolu Courthouse yesterday, where he was arrested by the duty magistrate for "threatening with a weapon" and "insulting the President" following his statement to the prosecutor.
