A famous YouTuber in Mexico was tortured and killed by a drug cartel.

Famous YouTuber El Pinky has become the latest victim of the conflicts between drug cartels in Mexico. The 22-year-old influencer was tortured and killed.

It has been determined that El Pinky, whose lifeless body was found in the state of Sinaloa, was killed by hitmen affiliated with the Sinaloa Cartel. In footage that surfaced on social media after the incident, the young YouTuber is seen being interrogated on the grounds that he was working for a rival cartel.

Security expert Dr. Robert Bunker stated in an interview with the Daily Star, "Since the 2010s, cartels have been targeting individuals who criticize them. Recently, social media influencers have also become among these targets."

Authorities have announced that six social media influencers have lost their lives in similar attacks in the last four months. Last December, YouTuber El Gordo Peruci and his wife were also shot and killed in an armed attack in the city of Culiacán.

The Sinaloa state police reported that cartel conflicts in the region have made 2024 the bloodiest period in the last decade. The investigation is ongoing.
