Ibrahim, who was adopted at the age of 8 and is now 26, caused a stir when he said, "My stepfamily never accepted me. I want to find my biological father." His stepmother Güley applied to a television program, saying, "Get me away from this child." Mother Güley stated, "I worked, went into debt to buy him a house. We raised him, and he turned out to be ungrateful. Even if his family doesn't come, I will leave him."
"Don't Give Up" program with Didem Arslan Yılmaz highlighted a striking crisis involving a young man who was adopted and his stepfamily. The controversy began with the words of mother Güley, “Get me away from this child. We regret adopting him,” and escalated with 26-year-old İbrahim's statement, “They never embraced me, I want to find my father,” as both parties accused each other live on air.
"THEY NEVER EMBRACED ME"
İbrahim, who stated that he was adopted at the age of 8, used expressions filled with resentment towards his family. Claiming that he was never made to feel like he belonged, the young man said, “They always treated me like I was a stranger. They never embraced me. I don't want my stepfamily. I want to find my father.”
"HE DOESN'T CALL US MOM AND DAD"
Mother Güley and father Ahmet defended that they fulfilled their duties towards their son. The family stated that they had known İbrahim was adopted from the beginning, saying, “We never hid it so he wouldn't find out later and be upset. But he doesn't call us mom and dad.”

Mother Güley's words drew attention. Explaining the great sacrifices she made for her son, Güley said, “I used to hug him and kiss him. I used to say, ‘Mother sacrifice.’ I rented a place, worked so he wouldn't have to, I took on debt to buy a house. I wanted him to stand on his own feet. We raised him, he turned out ungrateful.”
