A fire broke out on the first floor of a four-story building in Beyoğlu, Istanbul, and grew due to the wind. Two people on the upper floor took refuge on the roof because of the fire. Firefighters who arrived at the scene managed to bring the fire under control and began cooling efforts.
A fire broke out on the 1st floor of a 4-story building in Beyoğlu. With the influence of the wind, the fire grew, causing various explosions, while 2 residents of the building took refuge on the roof.
THEY FLED THE FIRE AND TOOK REFUGE ON THE ROOF
The fire occurred around 21:00 on Ömer Hayyam Street, Camcı Musa Street. For an unknown reason, a fire broke out on the 1st floor of the 4-story building. The flames, fueled by the wind, completely engulfed the 1st floor. While various explosions occurred due to the fire, it was claimed that 2 people on the upper floor were affected by the smoke and took refuge on the roof. Thanks to the efforts of the neighborhood residents, the 2 people who took refuge on the roof were rescued.
Upon the notification of nearby citizens, a large number of police, health, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. After the initial intervention by the teams, the 2 people affected by the smoke were taken to the nearest state hospital in the area for health checks. There were no deaths or injuries on the 1st floor where the fire occurred.
THE FIRE HAS BEEN BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL
After an hour of work by the fire brigade teams, the fire was brought under control. After cooling efforts, the fire was extinguished. Meanwhile, police teams closed the street where the fire occurred to entry and exit, taking security measures in a controlled manner. An investigation has been initiated regarding the fire.
