The political world witnessed a historic wedding: CHP Group Deputy Chair and Ankara MP Murat Emir married CHP Deputy Chair and Istanbul MP Evrim Rızvanoğlu. With this marriage, for the first time in parliamentary history, two actively serving MPs from the same period tied the knot, marking the beginning of an 'MP couple' era in the parliament benches.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Group Chair Murat Emir and CHP Deputy Chair Evrim Rızvanoğlu tied the knot. This happy day for the Ankara and Istanbul deputies has gone down in the history of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
THEY ACHIEVED A FIRST Although there have been marriages of individuals who previously served as deputies, retired, or were present in the assembly in different periods in TBMM history, it is the first time that two actively serving deputies from the same term have married. With this historic wedding, the couple Emir and Rızvanoğlu earned the title of parliament's 'first deputy couple.'

Education: Born in Malatya in 1969, Emir graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and became an Ophthalmology specialist. He completed a master's degree in Laser Physics at Heidelberg University in Germany. With an unending passion for education, Emir then graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law and earned the title of 'Doctor of Science' by completing a PhD in Health Law.Political Career: He has been serving in the assembly as a CHP Ankara Deputy for four consecutive terms since June 2015. After serving as a member of the Party Assembly and the Constitution Commission, he was appointed as the CHP TBMM Deputy Group Chair in April 2024.Evrim Rızvanoğlu THE BRIDE IS THE CAPTAIN OF NATURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES Evrim Rızvanoğlu, drawing attention with her success story extending from the business world to politics, is one of the most active figures in the CHP administration:
Education and Business Life: Born in Van in 1980, Rızvanoğlu completed her higher education at California State University in the USA. After earning an MBA from Florida International University, she worked as a manager in the family business. Political Career: She entered politics as a founding member of the DEVA Party and served as deputy chair responsible for environmental policies. She was elected as an Istanbul Deputy from the CHP lists in the 2023 elections. Rızvanoğlu, who resigned from the DEVA Party and joined the CHP on June 27, 2025, currently serves as a member of the CHP Central Executive Committee (MYK) and Deputy Chair responsible for Nature Rights and Environmental Policies.
