In Marmaris, the images showcased under the name of "shows" in entertainment venues seem to be endless. The performances, criticized for being contrary to culture and morality, have been described with comments like "This is not dance, it's exhibitionism."
Marmaris, one of Turkey's and the world's favorite holiday destinations, has once again come under fire with images that have become a hot topic on social media. Comments such as "This is not dancing, it's outright exhibitionism" were made regarding the shows held under the guise of "entertainment" in entertainment venues.
INSPECTIONS HAVE STARTED TO BE QUESTIONED
Following the first images that ignited the discussions, 14 businesses were closed and 12 businesses were temporarily sealed a few days ago. However, despite this, the continued spread of similar content on social media has brought criticisms regarding the inadequacy of inspections.
"WE DO NOT WANT TO BE PROMOTED AS CHEAP" REACTION
A large number of users and locals argued that such shows harm Turkish culture and trap the country in a perception of cheap tourism, calling on authorities to take stricter measures. In posts related to the issue, statements such as "Everything is indexed to sexuality. Everyone who has a share in this disgraceful picture that tramples our culture is responsible for this betrayal" drew attention.
WILL INSPECTIONS BE INTENSIFIED?
While no new statement has yet come from the authorities, the public's expectation is for increased inspections on similar businesses in Marmaris and the implementation of more permanent measures.
