A helicopter belonging to the Qatari Armed Forces crashed into the sea due to a technical malfunction. It was reported that 1 of our soldiers and 2 ASELSAN technicians were martyred, and 4 Qatari soldiers also lost their lives in the incident.
In a statement from the Qatari Ministry of Interior, it was reported that a helicopter belonging to the Qatari Armed Forces crashed into the country's territorial waters due to a technical malfunction while performing its routine mission. The ministry announced that 6 people lost their lives in the accident and one person is missing.
THE HEARTBREAKING NEWS WAS ANNOUNCED BY THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE
The Ministry of National Defense shared heartbreaking details in its statement regarding the accident. It was stated that the helicopter crashed into the sea due to a technical malfunction, and it was noted that 1 of our soldiers and 2 ASELSAN technicians were martyred in the accident. It was learned that 4 of those who died in the accident were Qatari military personnel.
STATEMENT FROM THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE
The following statements were included in the announcement from the Ministry of National Defense: "Military cooperation and coordination activities between the Republic of Turkey and the State of Qatar continue uninterrupted within the framework of existing agreements and plans.
"CRASHED INTO THE SEA DUE TO A TECHNICAL MALFUNCTION"
A helicopter belonging to the Qatari Armed Forces, which conducts training activities under the Qatar-Turkey Joint Command, crashed into the sea on the evening of March 21 due to a technical malfunction, according to initial determinations. The wreckage of the helicopter and the remains of our martyrs were reached through the search and rescue operation that was immediately initiated.
In the accident, four personnel of the Qatari Armed Forces, one of our Turkish Armed Forces personnel, and two ASELSAN technicians were martyred. The exact cause of the crash will be determined as a result of the investigation to be conducted by Qatari authorities. We wish God's mercy upon all our martyrs who lost their lives in this tragic accident, and we extend our condolences to their families, the Turkish Armed Forces, the Qatari Armed Forces, ASELSAN, the Turkish Nation, and the brotherly people of Qatar."
