Billionaire businessman Elon Musk, who has recently been embroiled in major controversies with U.S. President Donald Trump, has extended a lifeline to the people of Venezuela through the technology giant Starlink. Musk stated that he would provide free internet to the public for one month, a move that seems likely to infuriate Trump.

American billionaire businessman Elon Musk announced that he would provide one month of free internet to Venezuela through his company 'Starlink'.

In a post on his social media account, Musk announced that Starlink would provide free internet access to the country until February 3, with the phrase 'Support for the people of Venezuela'.

MADURO'S FAREWELL MESSAGE

This announcement from Starlink came after the illegal abduction of Nicolas Maduro by the United States. Even while being detained, Maduro bid farewell to reporters and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents by wishing them "Happy New Year and Good Night." Amid these shocking developments, the Venezuelan Supreme Court intervened to address the leadership vacuum in the country. The court decided that Vice President Delcy Rodriguez would assume presidential powers temporarily following the U.S. removal of Nicolas Maduro from office.

TRUMP'S OIL-FOCUSED PLAN

Former U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton shed light on the behind-the-scenes situation in statements made to CNN. Bolton stated that the plan to remove Maduro was presented to President Donald Trump during his first term, but it could not be implemented because administration officials could not keep the president "focused" on the issue.

Bolton expressed that even during Trump's first term, he was "very interested in Venezuelan oil" and that his team managed to make Trump interested in the idea of removing Maduro, but they could not keep him "focused" on it permanently. It was also mentioned that the opposition at that time believed that economic pressure would be sufficient to divide the regime. As a result, the U.S. adopted a stance contrary to international law and justice by launching a "large-scale attack" on Venezuela without Congressional approval.
