A light commercial vehicle collided with a truck from behind on the Malatya-Akçadağ road; Mustafa Nuri Taşkanat, Saadet Taşkanat, and Rukiye Sarımermer lost their lives in the incident. The truck driver, Hakan Ö., was taken into custody, and an investigation has been initiated regarding the accident.
Three people lost their lives as a result of a light commercial vehicle colliding with a truck from behind on the Malatya-Akçadağ highway.
The accident occurred in the morning hours at the 53rd kilometer of the Malatya-Akçadağ highway, where a light commercial vehicle with license plate 38 YD 898, driven by Mustafa Nuri Taşkanat (39), crashed into a truck with license plate 38 AHY 083, driven by Hakan Ö., who was traveling in the same direction. Upon notification from bystanders, health, fire, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.
2 PEOPLE DIED ON THE SCENE, 1 PERSON DIED IN HOSPITAL
During the examination conducted by health teams, it was determined that the driver of the light commercial vehicle, Mustafa Nuri Taşkanat, and his companion, Saadet Taşkanat (66), lost their lives at the scene. Rukiye Sarımermer (78), who was rescued with injuries, was taken to Akçadağ Şehit Gökhan Aslan State Hospital by ambulance. Despite all interventions in the emergency room, Sarımermer could not be saved.
THE TRUCK DRIVER WAS DETAINED
While the bodies of the deceased were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution's morgue, the truck driver Hakan Ö. was detained in connection with the accident. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
