In the heavy rainstorm in Amasya, 76 sheep in the herd gathered under a tree were killed as a result of a lightning strike. It was learned that the condition of the 25-year-old shepherd Mehmet Kürkçü, who was taken to the hospital due to being affected by the lightning, is good.
76 small livestock animals were killed as a result of a lightning strike on a flock of sheep in Amasya. The shepherd was taken to the hospital.
HEAVY RAIN STARTED WHILE GRAZING THE ANIMALS
The incident occurred in the Kışlacık village, Kuzoluk area, at the foothills of Akdağ. While the sheep owned by Sefer, Recep, and Mehmet Kürkçü were grazing in the field, heavy rain started.
LIGHTNING STRUCK 76 SHEEP
However, at that moment, lightning struck and 76 sheep in the flock were killed. Mehmet Kürkçü was also affected by the lightning. Health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area upon notification.
SHEPHERD TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT
After the initial intervention of the health teams, Mehmet Kürkçü was transported to Amasya University Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Education and Research Hospital by ambulance. It was reported that Kürkçü's condition is good.
