Following the crash of a passenger plane carrying 242 people in India, the shares of the aircraft manufacturer Boeing plummeted. Boeing's shares fell nearly 8% in futures trading, currently trading at $198.
An Air India passenger plane crashed shortly after taking off from the airport in Ahmedabad, India.
The Indian police stated that the passenger plane, which took off with 242 people on board heading to London, crashed into a residential area near the airport. It was reported that the wreckage of the plane was on fire, with black smoke rising from the area.
STOCKS PLUMMETED
Following the incident, the stock of the aircraft manufacturer Boeing plummeted. Boeing's shares, which closed at $214 yesterday, are trading at around $198 in futures, down nearly 8%.
