Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 200 suspects involved in numerous digital crimes, primarily child pornography, were apprehended in cybercrime operations conducted in 19 provinces over the last 5 days. During the operations, structures containing online exploitation and obscene content targeting children were uncovered, and 65 suspects were arrested.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that law enforcement has captured 200 suspects in operations conducted over the last 5 days as part of the fight against cybercrime. Yerlikaya stated that these operations have prevented citizens from suffering financial and moral harm due to crimes such as fraud, online child pornography, and illegal betting.
65 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
In operations targeting crimes of "Qualified Fraud, Online Child Pornography and Harassment, Illegal Betting," 65 of the captured suspects were arrested, and judicial control measures were applied to 48 others. Proceedings regarding the other suspects are ongoing.
WIDE RANGE OF CRIMES FROM FRAUD TO ILLEGAL BETTING
As part of the investigations, it was determined that the suspects defrauded citizens through social media platforms and phishing sites with themes of "earn by doing tasks" and "product sales," gained unauthorized access to mobile banking and gaming accounts, engaged in illegal betting and gambling, and facilitated and advertised money transfers to betting sites. Additionally, it was found that the suspects hosted obscene child images, engaged in POS loan sharking, and conducted activities related to the sharing and querying of personal data.
OPERATIONS IN 19 PROVINCES COORDINATED BY EGM AND MASAK
As a result of the efforts carried out under the coordination of the Cyber Crime Department of the General Directorate of Security and MASAK, operations were conducted in Adana, Adıyaman, Aydın, Bolu, Çanakkale, Denizli, Düzce, Gaziantep, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Istanbul, Izmir, Kayseri, Kırşehir, Kocaeli, Mardin, Sakarya, Samsun, and Van. Prosecutors have initiated investigations against the captured suspects.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya emphasized that they will continue their determined fight against cybercrime, stating that they show no tolerance for any structure that threatens the safety of citizens in the digital realm, and congratulated the teams involved in the operations.
