In Diyarbakır, the research assistant indicated in the suicide note of Nur Sena Düzgün, a student at the Faculty of Theology, has been suspended from duty by Dicle University. An investigation has been initiated following the incident and is ongoing.
After leaving a note in Diyarbakır, theology faculty student Nur Sena Düzgün (21), who committed suicide, pointed to research assistant Ahmet P., who has been suspended from his position.
UNIVERSITY STUDENT SENA COMMITTED SUICIDE The incident occurred on May 26 in the garden of Dicle University Oncology Hospital. After her family reported her missing when she did not return home, police teams initiated a search operation, and Nur Sena Düzgün's lifeless body was found hanging from a tree in the garden a day later. Nur Sena's body was buried after the autopsy procedures at the Forensic Medicine Institution.
"THE MAIN ISSUE IS AHMET" In the investigation conducted by the police at the scene, Nur Sena's personal belongings and a note written in a notebook were found. In her note, Nur Sena pointed to research assistant Ahmet P., stating, "I haven't eaten for 2 days. Now I realize that I am hungry. I wish I could have eaten a liver before I die. I crave apples and watermelons. And also cucumbers. Make sure to pay the installment for the phone to Professor F.Z. Pay it off. In fact, sell the phone, and you can pay the rest. This was the only debt I left behind. If I had known, I wouldn't have left this either, I'm sorry. The rope was too long for my height; I collected pine cones to reach it, stepped on it, and it collapsed. I collected manure, that collapsed too, but I managed. I am dying this time. Please donate all my clothes to charity. My books to the university, my toys to the orphanage, my fish to Ahmet. I don't want anything left of me in this world. I don't want even a single flower on my grave. I don't want a gravestone either. No one should stay at my grave for more than 5 minutes. Those who want to cry should go home, including my mother. And the main issue is Ahmet. Ahmet should never come to my grave." she said.
SUSPENDED FROM DUTY Following the allegations, Ahmet P. was taken to the police station for questioning. After his statement, Ahmet P. was released. An administrative investigation was also initiated by Dicle University regarding Ahmet P. In a statement from the university, it was noted that Ahmet P. had been suspended from his position, stating, "Due to the death of our theology faculty student Nur Sena Düzgün, a comprehensive research and investigation process is ongoing by our university, the Police Department, and the Prosecutor's Office. Due to the fact that the allegations do not align with our university's ethical values and our responsibility to public service, an investigation was promptly initiated by our Rectorate, and the relevant faculty member has been suspended from duty." The investigation related to the incident is ongoing.
