The Cabinet meeting, chaired by President Erdoğan, has concluded. After the meeting, President Erdoğan addressed the cameras, stating, "We will have important announcements regarding energy in the near future."
The Cabinet meeting was held at the Presidential Complex under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In the 1.5-hour meeting, developments in both domestic and foreign policy, as well as the economy, were discussed. President Erdoğan is making statements after the meeting.
Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:
"In our meeting, we evaluated critical issues on Turkey's agenda, primarily agriculture, transportation, economy, and security. The elections on May 14-28, 2023, have gone down in history as one of the turning points in our political life. Our nation has made very important decisions regarding its future in both elections. Instead of a structure that is prone to constant crises and conflicts, they have chosen to support the Presidential Alliance in the Parliament and us personally. I thank the citizens who deemed us worthy of the Presidential office. I also thank the citizens who went to the polls, even if their preferences manifested differently."
"THE MAGNITUDE OF THE DANGER OUR COUNTRY HAS OVERCOME WILL BE BETTER UNDERSTOOD OVER TIME"
It is becoming increasingly clear today that Turkey has turned back from the edge of a deep abyss. The political debates we have witnessed in the last week are more than sufficient to see this. Until two years ago, those who wore white shirts, filmed videos, and showered each other with praise are now competing for headlines. I would like to express this with all my sincerity. The magnitude of the danger our country has overcome will be better understood over time. As the Presidential Cabinet, we have been serving our country and nation with love for the past two years in complete harmony. Our goal in the remaining three years is to develop our country, raise the standard of living, and break the rusty chains that have been placed on the eternal brotherhood of our nation.
"TURKEY HAS THE STRENGTH TO SOLVE EVERY ISSUE"
Turkey has the strength, will, and democratic maturity to solve every issue, especially the terrorism problem. A Turkey without terrorism will be the pivot and balance of this. No matter how complicated it may be, there is no unsolvable problem for Turkey. The most solid ground for discussing our issues is undoubtedly politics. Thanks to 23 years of achievements, our democracy has gained the competence to discuss all kinds of problems within the framework of mutual respect and to find solutions with common sense. No one doubts this. It is normal for those who have fed on pain and tears for years to be concerned about Turkey's strengthening. We leave those who insist on being part of the problem instead of the solution to the profound insight of our nation.
May God grant us many more years to serve our nation with determination, enthusiasm, and excitement. Since our last meeting, we have participated in very important meetings, openings, and visits both domestically and abroad. We have put our defense projects on the table. We made important decisions at the 4th Agricultural Council held on May 14. The Turkey-America-Saudi Arabia and Syria meeting has initiated a new era regarding investments and the lifting of sanctions on our neighbor Syria."
