The Chairman of the Referees' Committee, Ferhat Gündoğdu, stated that Boey obstructed his opponent in the disallowed goal of Galatasaray in the match against Konyaspor, and that it was correct to conduct a review on the field according to the VAR protocol.
While discussions continue regarding the disallowed goal of the yellow-reds in the Konyaspor–Galatasaray match played in the Super League, the President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Central Referees Committee (MHK) Ferhat Gündoğdu spoke for the first time.
CLEAR COMMENT ON BOEY'S POSITION
In an evaluation made to Beyaz TV, MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu stated about the controversial position, "Boey clearly obstructs his opponent's ability to play the ball. The VAR protocol requires an OFR (On-Field Review) in such situations," he said. Gündoğdu's statement revealed that the position was evaluated within the framework of VAR intervention.
GALATASARAY'S STRONG REACTION
After the match, Galatasaray Club published a strong statement regarding the disallowed goal. The yellow-red club stated, "You can disallow our goal by disregarding all the rules. We know very well what you are trying to do because you have done this before. Prepare in advance to disallow it when we become champions at the end of the season. You cannot stop Galatasaray with these games!"
Later, the TFF made a statement on its official social media account, saying without naming anyone, "Football is not a foot game, it is a sport." This message was interpreted as a reference to Galatasaray in the public eye.
