Minister Bayraktar announced that this year, 57 million barrels of oil reserves have been discovered in different locations, with a value of 4 billion dollars. Bayraktar stated that there is a potential of 4 to 6 million barrels of shale gas and shale oil throughout Diyarbakır.
THE NATURAL GAS NEED OF 8 MILLION HOUSEHOLDS WILL BE MET Bayraktar announced that next year, after the completion of the second phase in the Black Sea, the natural gas produced will meet the needs of 8 million households. Bayraktar stated that the natural gas coming from Azerbaijan will start to be exported to Aleppo via Kilis on Saturday, August 2. Bayraktar also announced that Turkey's second floating production platform will set sail from the Far East to Turkey in December 2027.
SEARCHING EVERYWHERE IN TURKEY Minister Alparslan Bayraktar used the following statements: "We will leave no place in Turkey unsearched. We said we would drill in the land and at sea. We have started to see the results of this strategy. The discovery in Gabar is like this. Discoveries have been made and production has started. We had put forward a strategy for the production of natural gas and oil, known as shale gas, which is trapped within the rocks, especially with the conventional production we call from Turkey. In 4 fields in Diyarbakır, we are working with American companies, which are the largest producers in this field. They apply this technology the best. The technology that makes the U.S. number one today is this. The job involves being able to extract oil and natural gas trapped within the rocks. In 4 fields, there is an area of approximately 600 square kilometers north of Bismil. We will conduct 24 vertical and horizontal drillings. This year, we will carry out vertical drilling and fracturing, and our plan is to explore the field with 24 wells within the next 3 years and to be able to start production from there."
DRILLING PLAN TO BE DECIDED BY THE END OF THIS YEAR Bayraktar, who provided the date for the drilling plan in Somalia, continued: "We have taken the MR of the three fields in the sea in Somalia. Our activities are complete, and our Oruç Reis ship has returned to Turkey. We are currently evaluating the images we obtained from the MR. By the end of this year, around December, we will finalize the works and then we will make the drilling decision. We will have finalized this by the end of the year. In Syria, we are currently talking about 3-4 hours of electricity. The activities we are doing are aimed at providing this electricity to people for a longer duration. We have ongoing electricity exports to Syria. Initially, we aim to increase this to around 280 megawatts through existing lines."
NATURAL GAS EXPORT TO SYRIA WILL START ON AUGUST 2 Bayraktar, who stated that natural gas will be exported to Syria, said: "Regarding natural gas, we also completed the processes for the export of natural gas from Kilis to Aleppo in May, which was a rapid connection work. The Ministry of National Defense cleared the mines in that area. We made this connection in a short time. God willing, on August 2, we will be exporting gas coming from Azerbaijan to Aleppo via Kilis. We will provide natural gas to Syria."
