DNA PROFILES OF 134 INDIVIDUALS COMPARED

The statement included the following expressions:

"In this regard, two separate reports have been prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institution's Biology Specialization Department and the 5th Specialization Department. In the report dated October 14, 2025, from the Biology Specialization Department, it was stated that the possibility of contamination during the transfer of Rojin Kabaiş to the autopsy site and the preceding process could not be eliminated, and therefore, the possibility of contamination of the two samples in question still remains valid. The 5th Specialization Department of Forensic Medicine, taking into account the data in the report of the Biology Specialization Department, stated in its report that as a result of the combined evaluation of the autopsy findings, the mixed DNA profiles of two different male individuals detected in the analyses could arise from contamination or could belong to male individuals with whom the deceased had contact before death. The report also emphasized that prioritizing the evaluation of the contamination possibility is a correct approach, but in such cases, it is appropriate to act promptly, and biological samples should be taken from suspicious male individuals for simultaneous DNA analyses. It was reported that the Forensic Medicine Institution examined all processes related to the contamination risk from the moment the body was transferred from the autopsy site, conducted DNA comparisons, and excluded the possibility of contamination from the institution's perspective. Additionally, the DNA profiles of 134 individuals who may have intervened in the body during the transfer process from the scene to the Forensic Medicine Institution Van Group Presidency Morg Specialization Department, including those identified as having communicated with the missing person before their disappearance, were compared with the DNA profiles obtained from the Forensic Medicine Institution's Biology Specialization Department at the Van Gendarmerie Criminal Laboratory. The examination revealed that no contamination was detected from individuals unrelated to the deceased's death during this process, thus excluding the possibility of contamination at this stage."

"WE WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT"

The statement also noted, "In the event that biological samples are taken from other suspects to be identified during the judicial investigation process, it was stated that these samples would be sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution Istanbul Biology Specialization Department to be compared with the male DNA profiles detected in Rojin Kabaiş's body. In a meeting held on November 13, 2025, with the Van Chief Public Prosecutor, it was communicated to us that correspondence with the Spanish Ministry of Justice is ongoing and that the phone will be sent to Spain for activation. Our requests for the clarification of Rojin Kabaiş's suspicious death have been submitted to the case file, and we will continue to fight for the clarification of Rojin Kabaiş's suspicious death," it was stated.
